Love That Walks the Road With You
Emmaus Kingdom Missions began with a simple desire shared by a group of friends: to show the love of God in action. The name Emmaus comes from the beautiful encounter on the road to Emmaus in Luke 24. Two disciples were walking in disappointment and confusion, yet Jesus came near and walked with them.
He didn't simply tell them to keep going.
He walked alongside them.
He listened to them.
He opened the Scriptures to them.
He stayed with them.
And eventually, their eyes were opened to recognize Him. That picture of Jesus is at the heart of our mission. We want to be people who are willing to walk alongside others to listen, encourage, serve, teach, pray, and share the hope of the Gospel. Sometimes people need someone to walk the road with them before they are ready to see where God is leading them.
Through Bible studies, church visits and Gospel preaching, village visits and door-to-door Gospel sharing, community service, and providing food, clothing, and grocery packs, we desire to make God's love visible through practical action.
And through Emmaus Stories, our publishing work, we share real-life stories and faith-filled resources that encourage people and point them toward Jesus.
We are simply a group of friends who want our faith to move beyond words to serve with love. And, like Jesus on the road to Emmaus, to meet people where they are and journey with them toward hope.

Our mission is found in the person beside us.
If someone needs a conversation, we listen.
If someone needs prayer, we pray.
If someone needs food, we share.
If someone needs direction, we open the Word.
If someone feels alone, we walk with them.
Because sometimes showing God's love begins with something as simple as being willing to walk one more mile with someone.
Our mission is to walk with people in the places where life has left them weary, forgotten, or in need of hope, and to make the love of Jesus tangible through our presence and our hands.

MEET OUR VISIONARY
There was a season in my life when I felt broken, and I found myself walking a road that felt very lonely. I didn't always know where the road was leading, but somewhere along that journey, I began to realize something I had overlooked for so long, Jesus was walking beside me. He was there in the quiet moments, in the questions, in the tears, and even in the places where I felt most alone.
Looking back, I can see that I was never really walking that road by myself. That experience is part of the heart behind Emmaus Kingdom Missions.I want to remind people of something I myself needed to remember: God sees us, God loves us, and He is willing to walk with us, even on the roads we never expected to travel. Emmaus is not an organization running toward success or trying to reach a particular goal.It is simply a daily walk.A walk with someone who needs to know the love of God.A walk with someone who needs a listening ear.A walk with someone who may simply need a hand to hold.We are a group of friends who want to live out what we have received to show God's love not only through words, but through our presence, our service, our prayers, and the simple things we can do for someone along the way. Just as Jesus came alongside the disciples on the road to Emmaus, we want to be willing to come alongside others on their road. We may not always know where their journey will lead. But we can walk with them for a little while. And perhaps, along that journey, they too will discover that Jesus was walking beside them all along.
